Responsible tourism

Saat Tours promotes an authentic type of tourism, close to local communities and contributing to their social and economic development.

PROXIMITY TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

During your stay, you will be invited to meet the local Khmers, whether in the capital, in remote villages or in tourist cities like Siem Reap. You will emerge in their daily life, learn and converse about their culture, their way of thinking, and their traditions. Throughout the tours, we make sure you stay close to the local culture and visit local markets, schools, agricultural projects, villages and pagodas. Your guide and / or your driver will assist you and stay by your side.

SUPPORT LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Each tour includes at least 1 visit to an NGO supporting local youth programs. By visiting the projects and understanding their educational and vocational training programs, we want to make you understand the economic situation of the country and why it is important to support these projects.

A few of the NGOs we support :

For A Childs Smile (Phnom Penh):
educates over 4,000 children and provides vocational training to 1500 young people. Support programs: health, nutrition, medical and psychological care, protection and family support.

Nouvelles Pousses
 (Phnom Penh):
Helps children of the poorest families in Cambodia and operates in two districts on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Supports schooling, medical care and financial loans to families

Phare Ponleu Selpak (Battambang and Siemreap) :

offers free access to artistic training for disadvantaged youth, as extra-curricular activity or vocational training. Created multiple arts schools: School of Visual Arts, the School of Music, the School of Circus and the Theatre School.

We also dine at the NGO restaurants, Friends (Phnom Penh) and Sala Bai (Siem Reap).
